Amaranth are tiny seeds with a mild nutty flavour. Amaranth is a highly nutritious cooking ingredient; great for thickening sauces, soups and stews.Cooking Instructions:
Bring water to the boil and add Amaranth, simmer uncovered on low until the grain has reached the consistency you require. To achieve porridge consistency for each part of whole amaranth you will need 3 parts water, for a soft texture with distinct grains you will need 2 parts water and for a firm texture you will need only 1 part water.
Perfect to use in sweet and savoury dishes, Amaranth is a nutritious addition to any meal or is a great way to add more variety to gluten free meals. Why not try Coconut Amaranth pudding or Amaranth And Quinoa Stuffed Peppers?
